This new format is lousy! I thought ipc didn't have money to burn?

I don't like the changes. I find the font too small and feint making it hard to read. Can't use the fora for long now.

Rosa - as suggested - try hitting the Shift key with control and plus (+) pressed - the faint lettering will immediately become bolder, bigger and easier to read.
Most of the complaints are from people who don't know how to control a PC (that's why they're finding tablets are easier to read).

You might like one of the alternative formats which have been developed for older readers - look in the bottom corner of the page and you'll see a box which may say "vB4 Default Style". Click on that, and select "IPC Blue" or "IPC White".

Good grief! Are we still talking about this? I started this thread, then dropped it twelve pages back because it was getting dull.

But, here's something very irritating, which I've only noticed since the changes:

The "Insert Image" option seems to have become extremely restrictive about the type of URL it is prepared to accept...I've tried several, and none worked.

The only thing I could do was store the image in my pictures file, then upload it from there...which worked, but seems to prevent any image much bigger than a thumbnail, from being shown. Not good.

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Or is it a glitch?

The bold is nearly as bad as SHOUTING !

yep dan i'm sure it isn't the intention but it is irritating

Apologies. I haven't made adjustments to the display yet. Now...where's my toolbox?

What's the procedure exactly? In moron's terms, if you please? Ah! I think I've done it! Alright, alright, calm down. Some folk are asleep already.

As a quick workaround, I've added a couple of new styles which loses the pastel nature and make the fonts bigger

Scroll to the very bottom of your page, and bottom left you'll see a pull down menu, in that you'll find a style called IPC white and IPC blue

The "IPC White" option solves the readability problems.

Richard

Definite improvement, thank you. Any answers about my image-insertion question above? It might be something just as easily resolved. The various pictures I found, which prior to the new format, would I'm certain have been accepted, are simply rejected.

On the whole I prefer the default vBulletin style.

I suspect those who were finding their eyes being strained and their minds blown were using laptops and didn't know their way around simple software controls.

"Looses", not "loses"...

It may be slightly archaic...

Nay, sirrah! Doubtless 'tis in the common parlance, in thine shire? P'raps the king looses his women? His loose women? Or...his bowels? Jeez, these little 'expressive' faces are just AWFUL.

Amusingly, online dictionaries list "looses", but they can't seem to find any use for it in examples...and my 1996 OED doesn't have the word at all...very slack.
