This new format is lousy! I thought ipc didn't have money to burn?

Oh please do get off your high horse.

Any organisation worth their salt will implement upgrades to white-label applications as and when they are issued. This is normal.

It is also sensible to go with the default settings of a bulletin board application used globally. The fact that it is customisable by IPC is a great benefit, and IPC are being very customer (not that much money is changing hands here) focussed in reacting promptly to some criticism.

Arrogance would be to say "stuff it - you can like it or lump it".

It would also be a way to describe those who are rude and insensitive to those doing their best to help....

I'm in shock
This is the first time in lord only knows how long since I've been in shufflebutt, probably for the same reason others don't bother
Unless I'm mistaken, Snooks has actually been doing a hell of a lot more than he should have been doing to get things working the way people want it to work. Maybe it's time to give them a break here
Don't worry though, I'm not stopping long :D
But some users seriously should look at their attitude

Which is quite clearly why we appreciate your actions. That does not stop us being pissed off by the arrogance of those who implemented the changes in the first place. Some very simple testing would have exposed the very **** readability of the original implementation of the so called upgrade. The reality that you were easily able to change the situation actually exposes the very poor choices made by the IPC implementation team. Considering the implementation of digital versions of the magazine should one be surprised

Anyone would think you are paying to use the forum....you'll be wanting a refund next!

As a quick workaround, I've just added a new style which looses the pastel nature.

Scroll to the very bottom of your page, and bottom left you'll see a pull down menu, in that you'll find a style called IPC

Select it and see how we get on...Once I've worked out how to tweek it to make it clearer I will :)

Who da man? Snooks da man!

It's a FREE forum, stop moaning! :(

The user name is in larger text than the "Registered User" description. Just how big do you want your name to be?

NO it isn't and are there any posters that aren't 'registered users'?

It isn't my name I want larger but I do want to know who is posting!

On several forums i frequent the "Registered user" can be changed by the mods & admin team to a tag line. Perhaps the admin of this fine free forum could start utilising this useful facility by changing it to "Whinging git" or whatever is suitable.

Sadly, if you can't see that the user name is in larger text, you perhaps need help with accessibility. Had you thought of increasing the size of all the text by holding down "Ctrl" on your keyboard and using the scroll wheel on your mouse to get the text bigger?

Thanks for the tip, it works for me.

The ipc skin is a good improvement but, as others have commented, a few tweaks are still needed.

Being a glasses wearer I also would like the registered user name to be larger to see at a glance as I often look through posts for particular names whose input I trust. Blue colour may be part of the problem.

Also, if one has to be a registered user to post, why do we need the "registered user" comment.

Snooks - thanks for your continued patience in helping to sort out the issues being raised in the forum. (an unenviable task). The IPC type setup is now much better and I'm sure we'll all get used to the new setup soon.

I had only just got used to the old format, I'll be dead before I can get used to this!!

lol Why not just build in small improvements as you go along, evolution? The smilies are carp.

Well done Snooks, you should be spending the weekend with your wife & daughter, not trying to sort the Grumpy old so-an so's on here!
