Thinking of buying a cruiser boat/yacht yearly costs please

V39 vs 24ft sports cruiser are a world apart.
The person that did it in the V39 was very experienced I believe ?

I knew someone was going to correct me with a "24ft is nothing like a 39ft" comment....i was going to write that i knew there was a difference but i thought it might be more fun to wait for someone to point out the fact instead

 :p

24ft planing motorboat on a 3500nm trip may be possible but nobody sensible would actually try!
There are boats designed to do that sort of trip and there are those that should stay in sight of land.

Small planing hull boats are day trip boats for river lake and inshore coastal work.
I took one from Pwllheli to Conwy, that was far enough!
I personally know someone who took an American 26ft sports cruiser from London to the Black Sea approx 8 yrs ago. Took a pro skipper for English channel then into canals to S France then coast hopped. Completed the journey very determined lady

does the panel not think that it’s time we introduced theOP to the basic rule
Thou shalt not produce costings here unless worked out with ManMaths

A major factor is whether you're working & hence would have to enjoy your boating within your annual leave allowance and weekends or whether retired and have all the time in the world. Have you a partner and/or kids? If so having them on board (literally and metaphorically) is also paramount cos if they're not you'll have even less time for boating. In the UK you can't plan very much due to the vagaries of the weather. BUT - loads of us do it and love it, you're doing the right thing by trying it out on the Broads first to get a taste, hope you enjoy it...:)
I work in London hench want to be in commuting distance to mooring, I have got a partner but no kids so allowed to sneak of for long weekends and annual leave holidays abit further

I just thought we would be nice to spend some seasons in hotter weather as won't get much use out of it in winter months

Ive been looking to buy a boat for about 3 years now.

I dont rush into things and like to do a mountain of research first. I took my RYA courses and was ready to buy a boat just as the Covid crisis hit so it put a huge delay on my plans.

I suggest you do as much research as possible. YouTube has thousands of videos. I recommend Motor Boat & Yachting & AQUAHOLIC as a good place to start.

I also decided to keep my boat in Florida. Its all year round weather and i have the option of coastal cruising but more importantly the 3000 mile intracoastal waterway which will suit what i intend to use my boat for.

Enjoying the boat with friends and scantily clad women with as little hassle as possible

I would like to use my boat for the same purpose the clad womens sounds like a good time but I think the price of flights to florida every few weeks is out my budget unfortunately ?

I keep my 30 footer on the norfolk broads(southern side), it's a 90 minute drive from home in south cambs. but means in crap weather or normal weekends I have plenty of inland cruising, for longer time off I can head out of gt.yarmouth and hop around the east coast (you gotta like mud for east coast cruising), sometimes a bit of a commute works fine and the moorings will be a lot less than thames prices.
For anywhere thames/east coast you really need to check out crossingthethamesestuary.com and eastcoastpilot.com both books are well worth buying with the website for latest update info, you really need to learn how to work the tides as there's lots of places with restricted entry times that are well worth a visit, day skipper theory is a good idea as it will teach you a lot of the working out so you get places at the right times.

A few random thoughts:
To find out if you think a 24footer is liveable, visit a boatyard and look at a few different boats.
As a novice in a 24 footer, I doubt an insurer would cover you for Biscay (to reach northern Spain).
I've taken a 45 foot fly round Biscay to the Med - to do it in a 24 footer would be unbearable in my view..
For berthing costs, pick a few at random from here: active-marinas-list.
You should get an idea of the sort of things (navigation, tides etc) that you'll need to know even for UK trips - as snowbird said.

I understand now if you moor the boat in England you ain't gonna travel too far away also with the fuel costs associated with it works out too expensive to keep sailing distances as far as I first thought but can start here to get used to it then could always ship it too Spain(no pun intended) lol for a few years to have some holidays there.

You'll have to pay Spanish VAT on it.
Use the TI scheme.
Every 18 months either sit it back on the trailer and drive in / out of GIB or when calm pop over on its bum to Africa .
Therefore head as far S in Spain as you can .
Or haul it on its trailer to Croatia and start again in a new area VAT free .

Max out on the Brexit benefit of EU VAT free boating . I know the penny hasn’t dropped yet . :)

Need to learn all the tax/vat dodges lol so what are we talking about regarding diesel costs per litre compared to the pumps at the moment?

That boat claims to be "certified" for carrying eight passengers to sea. In a 24ft mobo, that needs a bit of investigation before you flash the cash.
Used to take 8 divers out on the 6m dory in the North Sea, mind you it did struggle to get on the plane... Oi! Mick! go forward, up on the bow, that should bring her down a bit... ;)
Really only did that in flat calm water, normally there would only be 4 of us out on the boat if diving so we had some coverage one way or another if something happened.
