They\'re not all bad

That much maligned species- the Sunsail skipper isn't all bad. I was racing in the Solent on Saturday, a fun race with my club. Our rules say that we still carry our ensign as it more a timed passage than a race. About half a mile from Prince Albert, off Gilkicker, I was sailing at almost half a knot trying to leave the Prince Albert to port, with the tide in danger of taking me onto it. Between me and the buoy was a fair few boats drifting along. The boat that was preventing me from rounding the buoy was a Sunsail boat and he had right of way. I shouted over to him - I'd plenty of time as we were about 5m apart and barely moving-and explained that although I was flying my ensign I was actually racing and I needed to get across him to clear the buoy as my nearest rival was abour 250 yds astern. There was a bit of a silence and then he altered course and let me through. If you're read this, thanks very much and no I didn't win but I took line honours.
