Dear Theyr.net subscriber,
Due to a recent email that has been issued by the directors of the company that produces theyr.tv I feel it is necessary as managing director of Kona ltd (theyr.net) to clarify this situation.
This is a statement of fact.
Dear user I am MD of Kona Ltd which now produces theyr.net. Kona also owns 51% of Keren ehf (now producing theyr.tv). Let me start by saying I have always been a supporter and fan of this service.
The domain name www.theyr.net has always been registered to and owned by my company.
Kona ltd re financed Keren ehf and theyr.net (formerly theyr.com) when they first went into liquidation and went offline 4 years ago due to their financing company at the time going into liquidation. That company owned 49% of theyr.net and like Kona ltd paid salaires on time and paid for all new equipment to re-establish the company with a certain business plan agreed to. After three years and no deadlines met (not to mention actual projects completed) and circa 250K euro invested I initiated a formal investigation into Keren ehf. This investigation discovered that Keren ehf was liquidated on the 14 Feb 2006 (you can verify this with the Icelandic authorities). Neither Kona or myself were ever informed about this and the directors of Keren refuse any contact with Kona. This all came to light about 3 months ago. The models used by theyr.tv to produce this data are publicly available and were initiated into the service by a third party.
All the front end pages of the old theyr.net are copyrighted to Kona as we designed it, they continue to take payments and do not advise users that they are in liquidation and may cease to to run the web site at any time which we believe is in clear breach of consumer laws (we have referred this to the authorities).
Kona has developed a completely new service from the very latest forecast models available. It is a marked improvement on the old service though we are aware that many users will find the new interface inevitably less familiar. There is nothing 'borrowed' and we continue to honour all accounts set up with theyr.net (Keren ehf). We are aware that there may be some initial bugs in the new version but we have an experienced team dealing with these and expect all such bugs to be quickly eliminated.
My company has acted responsibly and legally on all levels and as such we are proud of what we have achieved. We continue to support all previous users of the theyr service. Please rest assured that this service will be maintained to the highest standards possible. For more information about version 2 please visit our home page.
Please accept my personal apology for any inconvenience caused and our support team will do everything they can to ensure your emails are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Yours sincerely
