Got a perkins 4108 and a large car heater ....any advantage to installing a circulating pump to extract the last of the heat from the engine after shut down..?.also have about 25 lts insulated hot water tank if plumbed into the system how much heat could I expect to get out of the 25 lts at say 160 deg. F in other words would it be enough to keep the boat warm for a couple hrs in the evening, Thanks.....

mmmmm,Ok hot water should work fine ,if you ran the primary @160 you could easily get 50-60c of hot water at the taps no problem given of coarse that you run the motor long enough.
You are i bit too vauge on the large car heater, sure it will give you heat when the engine is running, but to put a circulating pump in would not keep yyou warm for 2 hours as you have only a relativly small amount of water in the system,25 liters plus pipes and engine block....put another way a starage heater for a room weighs 2 hundred weight of bricks, and what a reputation they have.
Put the cooker on!!!/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

OK was just an idea...actually the manufacturer of the heater sugests a circulating pump as engine cooling water does,nt circulate very well at low rpm so I won,t install the hot water tank. that,ll save me some time...thanks for that...
