There's a new buoy in town

Re: There\'s a new buoy in town

No. SW Shingles has been moved approx 100 yds from its old posn. Other two (RORC buoys) are discussed below. My buoy is much more of a pillar buoy.

I refer you to Motice to Mariners 127/2004 published on 19/12/2003:

127* ENGLAND - South Coast - The Solent - Solent Bank Northwards - Buoy.
Source: Trinity House Notice 37/03

Chart 2035 (INT 1729) [ previous update 4061/03 ] ETRS89 DATUM
Insert Yellow Buoy with X topmark Fl.Y.2·5s 50°45´·25N., 1°25´·70W.

Chart 2036 (INT 1730) [ previous update 4700/03 ] ETRS89 DATUM
Insert Yellow Buoy with X topmark Fl.Y.2·5s 50°45´·25N., 1°25´·70W.

The bouy does have the name "EXPERIMENTAL" pianted on each face, vertically in black.

Thus, instead of Xmas shopping we should have been reading our NM's and updating charts!
