. . . minding my own business, head in a locker, paintbrush in hand when there is a huge banging on the hull. I drops the paintbrush (on a surface that wasn't supposed to be painted), pull me head out of the locker removing an inch of scalp, just in time to hear a loud voice calling his breakfast order from the stern.

Of course, it's Kwacka wanting a return on his investment of a breakfast butty in July 2007. In addition, he has the owner & extended family of SeaWave with him. Sadly, I am not in a position to cater for large parties and don't think the under 10's should be exposed to the sight of Kwacka eating a bacon butty with ketchup - even with their parents present it could easily be a deeply scarring experience.

Any way, he kindly confirmed that the used VHF I just bought off Sailorman is in good order - it wouldn't work with my main vhf (possibly due to being directly under the aerial) before departing to continue rock finding elsewhere around the Strait on a falling tide.

Richard had threatened me that he would post derisory comments on here, but forgot that I have the technology to carry out a pre-emptive strike. Over to you, Kwacka!:D

Thank you for that :p I hadn't realised you were Chinese. I don't think I'll be testing the waterproofed-ness then . . . .

Just recharging the battery again - but boat's domestic battery is suffering, it has been running lights, computer, phone & 2x vhf as well as the entertainment centre. I'll have to go out for a run to charge the boat batteries tomorrow.

I'm guessing people do not understand what a sensitive creature Kwacka is :) I think he could be quite hurt by this latest attack on his character :D

Definately totally gutted Andie, the're all barstewards;)
I pulled up next to Searush with some nice peeps aboard out fer a Jolly.

'I,ll show yer 'the Old Man of the Sea' says I
The childers were a bit apprehensive however.

But low an behold a shorn (like a baby lamb) Searush appeared!

This really freeked the young uns!

So we daresnt tarry too long.
Plus no victuals were proffered:(

Then this cracklin garbage came over the vhf
Well, that really put the top hat on it.

See, whover had fitted the boat out, had stuffed the radio down by the helmsman's feet!
The childers were really worried now.
Why was the fat old helsman praying to Alah on his knees with Alah balancing on His new conservatory?
So we scuttled out of the Harbour to further the Jolly and to reassure the childers (They were almost in an irreversible shock by now) thst The Old Man of the Sea was really quite a nice person:rolleyes:

Oh yeh, The Conservatory
Blimey I aint sea that much cloth on a boat since the big Square rigger training ship came through the Strait!
Awl Rushies new 'tent', well marquee really is something to behold :D

In the end
The Adults had a good day and the childers were re adjusted mentally.

Oi Searush! now yer vhf works.
Next time I will forward order brekkie.
Oh! it has to be genuine HP Brown sauce by the way.
None of yer 'no frills' stuff Matey
Well, yer couldn,t could yer in a Marquee of that stature:p

I must apologise to Kwacka & party. I quite forgot he hadn't seen me since I had my locks shorn (and, yes, Delilah was well worth all the trouble!)

Anyway, I've puttered off to Llandwynn for the day to charge me batteries & see if I acn get a 3G signal - and I can. So here are a couple of pics I took on the way out. Despite a forecast of NE 5-7 the actual conditions were 0-0 variable!

Picture show (from R-L) - Young Cecil keeping a keen eye open for seagulls; he is great at keeping them off the decks, but they now all **** on the conservatory from a great height. Fort Belan, a former anti-Napoleonic garrison now a group of holiday homes (nothing much changed there then) and the approach to Llandwyn Island.
