I'm looking to consolidate the history of the Wakering 33's. I'm the owner of the JADE, which seams to have been originally Esther Ruth II, or was she the third ship built? If JADE and Esther Ruth are the same ships how many Wakerings where Built, as Alan Hill tells me there were 4, SURITA, ESTHER RUTH, JADE and Cracker Jack.

Does any one know where Cracker Jack now is ?

Surita is now the Alligin Oare.
If JADE is not the Esther Ruth, what has happenend to her, If she is Esther Ruth then who bought her from Ron Lemar, the 1st Owner ?

JADE's site is www.voilier-arcachon.com and I would like to add as much as I can to the history of these ships.

Why don't you post your vessel's build date and original Lloyds registration number. If you have further details on the others (build dates?) post those too. Someone on this site - maybe even me - will trace them through consecutive Lloyds Register of Yachts ... which is likely to provide much more reliable information than word of mouth.

Thanks,

Jade had the number SSR 25809, the build date may be 1972. I'm not sure as I've been told that the original name of JADE was Esther Ruth II, in which case it was built in 1971. The name change may be around 1986 ou 1987.
Cracker Jack was built in 1972 or 1973

Esther Ruth II had the number 342776 in the British Registry 80 of 1972, London. I have a copy of a closed transcript of a British ship dated 15th feb 2005, indicating that Jade was first registered on the 22 April 1988, when she was acquired by Bradley Higgs.

All I know about Cracker Jack was that it was built by Whisstocks at Woodbridge. Hope this helps.

I believe that the John XXXX in your website was John Duce who owned Jade for a while.
Crackerjack was originally owned by a Leigh on Sea Sailing Club member but I cannot remember his name. I do remember that Crakerjack was badly damaged when it was dropped by the crane when laying up, this would have been late 70's.

Great ! Now I have to find him for photos and details. I gather from Simon Lemar, Ron Lemar's son and 1st owner, that John did quite some work on the boat.

For Crackejack I'm in contact with Georges Whisstock who gave me a few details.

Happy Christmas
