Wow, you've got to be impressed with her pointing ability !
She also cut it pretty fine across the top of St. Maarten !

Re: Displaying the track on Google Earth

Mine is only accurate to 1 minute so the original globaltrack is more accurate.

The system was setup for tracking the ARC and intended to minimise the size of emails that have to be sent from the boats so seconds are not included.

Message from John 1154 via SMS ALL WELL GOOD PROGRESS AND DOLPHINS

The track reception is a bit intermittent so have let them know - maybe they can resite the antenna

Re: Displaying the track on Google Earth

Our position at 1830 BST is 21D28.11N 62D51.52W Going very well. Approx 200m in 24hrs. Left St Martin 1705 BST yesterday

Matt threaded our way through Scrub island channel and then set sails up and doing 9-10kn. Wind 15kn true from East, now veering ESE and dropping but still holding 8kn Speed over Ground. Course over Ground near constant 000 degrees true.

Fishing report: had many bites but at 10kn lot of headless tuna left in our wake ... !!

Re: Displaying the track on Google Earth

I take it that was a general comment.
I've flattened the view and zoomed out and set it as my default view. When I open GoogleEarth I see the whole Atlantic with an orange dot.
Never used Google Earth so much.

Re: Displaying the track on Google Earth

Yeah sorry about the course. For some reason it never calculates the course correctly when it receives a position by email. Have to go and find the code sometime. The average speed calculation though is correct
