There is a message on their site that the 2020 accounts will be available to governors and this at less than 3 weeks from the AGM. Those accounts that are available are for 2019.

What are they wanting to hide?
Are they afraid of criticism?

What are you inferring? They are not a company, but a charity, so their reporting timeframe is different. It is right that governors should know first.
They are a charity which raises enormous amounts of money from the public. I believe the public has a right to know what happens to their donations.

I have also said many times in the past that they have a very inflexible structure which will pose problems in the event of an economic downturn.

But that would never happen, would it?

In previous years the accounts were always available by this time of the year.

"He" said "RNLI", not "RYA".

Yes, my mistake.

RNLI website does say "The RNLI Annual Report and Accounts 2020 will be available to Governors who are attending the AGM directly via the platform. Governors will be able to access the platform once they have received their link to register. "

Immediately after the registration period ends on 18 June.

Governors in the RNLI are members paying over a certain level of subscription. This gives them voting rights and the ability to attend the AGM. They will be provided with the accounts first, as one of the pieces of business at the AGM is to approve the accounts before publication. The RNLI (along with all other charities) has to file accounts with the Charity Commissioners in due course, at that stage the accounts are usually published for the benefit of the general public.

Nothing sinister in this at all as post #11 explains. (I was just about to write much the same myself, but duncan beat me to it)

Once again displaying your ignorance for all to see!

Very shortly we'll move on to why the Shannon class lifeboat isn't fit for purpose, and how as an alternative you could launch a French lifeboat off a beach in any weather conditions using a travel hoist.

<sigh>

This is simply routine

The latest accounts have to be accepted and approved by the annual general meeting before they are published

Their availability three weeks before the AGM is not in the least unusual either

This isn't even trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, there isn't even a mole hill to start with

It's a departure from their usual practice.
