The panel\'s thoughts

I'm looking at the brokerages in Spain for a boat to use as a school boat based in Costa Del Sol.
Ideal would to be flybridge 36 to 40 ft, cruise 18-20 max 25 plenty. Been looking at a Fairline 36
sedan and a Fairline 40 about 87 to 88. Whats the thoughts on the sedan is the hull anywhere near
as good as the P35 ?

Re: The panel\'s thoughts

Hmm. Thats a novel approch. "School boat" Is this for use as a school bus or as a class room?? I can send Tutts along to do the teaching, as long as the puples are very short. But after 20 years she still knows very little about boats except lassooing cleats and droping anchors. Will this get her in??

Got a 3mm drill stuck in the hull last week. No amount of mole grips or nufink would get it out. Hope this helps!!

If it's to be based on the costa del sol, what difference does the hull strength make? I sure they will both be up to the job!

Oh no. Brand new drill into engine bearers. And with the cordless drill. (Hand Drill). Only went in about an inch. Then stuck, solid, would not move.

Re: The panel\'s thoughts

now the real bu**er is when you snap off a 3 mm drill real close to the surface - especailly when you cannot put the hole anywhere else !!! Did that the other day on Kelisha - had to get on the other side of the bulkhead and hit it back out with the side of a hammer (awkward and no room)..... took about 30 mins to push it back..../forums/images/icons/blush.gif and I did an Engineering Apprentiseship - double /forums/images/icons/blush.gif/forums/images/icons/blush.gif

Re: The panel\'s thoughts

Oh. I see. Did not know you were an expert sea teacher. Can I swap a bottle of soltron for one of those ICC thingies, or what ever there called??

Dont know nufink about tothers, just know how hard it is to sink a P35 I've been trying for years. And it's reputation of course.

Re: No Brainer...

The Fairline 36 Sedan has the same hull as the Turbo 36.

Thats all you really need to know, coz the Turbo 36 has one the best hulls ever produced at around this size.

I can also speak from practical experience, rather too much on some occasions !!!

Re: No Brainer...

Oi. Thars nowt more sencible about him having a T36 to rant about. Than my P35. You still dont know if its better or worse.
Anyway if it's a teaching boat you want sumate with shafts, which is better to drive and anyway they will knacker the outdrives up in no time, shunting about back and forwards.
