The Ouse to York and the Trent Bore

Moored there overnight once.Tide came in, debris, bang bang bang on bow.Tide went out bang bang bang on stern. No sleep that night, wouldnt do it again. If running out of daylight would stop at either Derwent or Selby.Went to Naburn in dark once, wouldnt do it again, too much muck in the river.

Don't underestimate the tidal ouse, in places it can be tricky and you don't want to do it in the dark. Much better to motor with full control. If you want to take you time and do it over several tides you can go into a canal at west stockwith or keadby on the river trent, or at a push with a watch, anchor at trent falls (just by the join of the trent and the ouse).
