I’m nearly ready to install my refurbished Taylor’s drip heater on the boat in the next few weeks.

I’m not entirely convinced with the stainless sheet screwed to the bulkhead aesthetic - so if you’ve got a stove installed do you mind showing some photos for inspiration?

I removed my stove which was an ugly installation, so no pics.

However, instead of stainless use master board and apply some tiles to the master board. It is superior to stainless as a heat shield. Easily sawed, drilled, filed et cetera

I have a sheet outside under a fire pit for around 8 years, not a sign of degradation. So pretty robust.

There are all types of textured stainless steel sheet that look nicer then plain or plain polished stainless steel

Another vote for tiles. I used Delft as in the photo. The heater was a Victory paraffin which was a brass cylinder type with w Primus stove inside, but could just as easily been a Taylors to go with the Taylors 030 cooker I had.

Now for another suggestion, silicone sheeting.

No pictures as not an elegant install (I used silicone sealant, next time I use something else).
I used this under and round my alcohol stove. I have had small alcohol spill and fire it did the job perfect.

My paraffin heater is mounted approx 1/2". From the bulkhead with no other heat shield, been like this since I bought the boat no marks on plywood bulkhead.

The fan does help shift air round the boat...

The pan below catches any accidental drips of anything.

Like onesea my heater (Dickenson) is mounted with a gap between it and bulkhead . It was fitted like that by the previous owner. I was at first wondering if installation was OK but Never had problems and no sign that heat has harmed withe bullhead or cushions.

Here's my effort. I had a stainless box made with a cut out for the controls. I had to install a bulkhead as I didn't want to loose the seat in the saloon.
