the Bestia was impressive in those seas

she was like literally (spitting to the water)
if you want speed, handling and one of the best hulls its very difficult to beat a Magnum
also forget to suggest the Baias to Magnum
the 63 Azzurra is one hell of a boat and that might match a Magnum in strong weather, according to many skippers I have spoken to
also Baias are renowned to have best performance with Arneson SD, as they where the first to use them

Riva 63, Fairline Targa, Princess Vs and Sunseekers are conventinional shaft drive boats
there is also a nice boat in the Rizzardi 45 Incredible which now in S version is available with SD, but UK dealership might be a problem to Magnum to keep a boat in the UK
still its a wonderful boat with a very spacious 3 cabin interior

M.agnum, as Petem says The Absolute would fit the bill for performance and space.
The new 52 and 56 look lovely boats with 3 cabins all with ensuites, and both with IPS, and what more the 56 come with triple IPS units for that bit extra performance. Ok delivery time might be an issue, but there maybe a solution!!

I believe OceanNautics have a stock Absolute 41 available for immediate delivery, why not do a deal with Nautical to buy the 41 and order a 56 and do a buy back deal for the 41 with him when the 56 is ready for delivery. Simple really!/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good luck,

Cheers,

Al.

Oh Dear!

We are in the process of moving to Devon.
Should we prepare ourselves for anything?

experienced the Magnum 50 Bestia in a Force 5 head sea with 5 metre waves

[/ QUOTE ]I noticed your post only now.
5m waves sounds closer to F8 rather than F5, according to Sir Francis...!
At which sort of speed did you make that exercise?
I wouldn't push even the strongest 50' boat against such head sea at planing speed.
Well, not without a S.A.R. chopper around... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
