Anybody else got their security clearance documents to complete . Apparently they need to know just how big a risk my presence in London in June will be.

On the assumption that they are not going to security check every one of the five (six? seven?) million people in London, there must be something special about you - what you gonna do in June?

I asked for a location before bothering with the silly questions, as we're moored at St Kats that weekend.

It would be easier and more pleasant spending the time with other club members than being herded through with the other plebs, then stuck in a silly place with no pleasantries for hours.

Lets see if they reply...

Yup, we've been asked too. It amused me as we have been involved with Project Kraken for a while (along with another forumite) and this is the first we have seen of it since a rather amusing introductory briefing a year or two ago.

Filled in and returned. I'll be in St Kats too, but thought I'd at least keep my options open.

Seems a bit overkill though - I already hold a UK airports airside pass, an airline crew pass, and a US work visa, all of which involved daft background checkage and criminal record history. Why can't they just cross refer to that??

Cross reference; cross reference??

So have most of the immigrant aircraft cleaners and loaders!!!!

Yes, and most of them aren't terrorists!! :) :)

Doubt they crew passes and US visa's though...

Point is, 'they' have much more extensive data on me already. Still, keeps someone employed I guess

So no clues to our "special" viewing area.
Suppose it got to be somewhere that would normally need clearance to get into.
Ps. Blimming well better have a bar handy :)

"Someone tipped them off about your newly fitted torpedo tubes."

Now all I need are some jet skiers and rib users to slow down for a moment or two so I can get some practice in !

the Met's form

I was puzzled when I was told to fill in the Met's form, as it says it relates to those participating in the jolly; but the only reason we were invited to look on from the side, was because we're not selected to participate!! (I think we wear the wrong flag!)

Anyway, the good old organisers "consider that everyone who
is going to be able to see the Pageant is going to be participating".....about 6 million people!! That's a lot of forms to check.

The Met, though say "Anyone that is watching the pageant from a 'special viewing area' or on a vessel within the flotilla itself will need to complete a security form."

Left and right hand syndrome again.

Ho hum.
