The curse of my old boat continues...

Quick update in case anybody cares.
Marked the prop and the nose cone during a very low tide last weekend, got down there at high tide last night to run her out, slip the prop/cones then return to the berth to see what was slipping.
So, ran her out, full throttle, and she pops up on the plane. Not ideal in a 6 knot speed limit...
Try again, same result.
Turned round into the strong wind, attempt number 3 with the same again. Loads of power and full drive.
Got back into the berth, raised the leg and checked the paint marks... perfectly aligned and no slippage.

*shrug* it must have healed itself.

I think the next step will be to call in a priest...

Very odd! I wonder if it is possible for the prop slipping on the bush to be intermittent i.e. it grips some of the time but maybe with a little extra load, perhaps caused by weather/tide/more people aboard it slips?

Failing that call the priest! :)

John Morris might be able to say a few words for you, although I think you need to be a member of the "bells and smells" division to perform a full blown exorcism.

Odd indeed. However, one potential cause could be something I experienced when I have a princess V39 many moons ago. One of my outdrives hooked a plastic bag that caused the problems you highlighted above. Once stopped and cleared I had no further issues.

Thanks all, priest it is then!

There was one less person aboard, 2 instead of 3 but I can't really see it making that big a difference? previously it slipped as soon as the revs climbed past 2000 rpm, it needs to close to 4000 before it pops up.

Maybe it was just that Piers? I did shunt it into reverse a couple of times when it was slipping, but maybe there was something still stuck on there that either shifted itself on the way back, or during the course of a few tides sweeping past it.
Sounds good to me, I shall consider it fixed!
