I can see her from my window.

I think Rebecca is much prettier. Anyone know why she has a bulldog (presumably stuffed/fake) in front of her Mizzen?

A green hulled vessel is currently moored right behind Rebecca... she arrived in the darkness last evening. Makes Rebecca look small.

Ngoni is anchored... where’s the chain????? A secret underwater deployment system... like a Bond villain. ?

In this article -
Inside the Beast - the story of sailing superyacht Ngoni by Royal Huisman

They mention "Ngoni’s hull is punctuated by large rectangular portholes, a sea-level gym door, fold-out side boarding platform, two submarine anchors and retractable thrusters. "

These submarine anchors are no doubt wonderful when they work properly, but it does seem to me to be very unnecessarily complicated.

Why all the negative? Envy? It's an amazing bit of design and engineering skill. Not to everybody's taste, clearly, but that's subjective.

Nothing to do with envy. It's all a matter of taste, or lack of it! ;)

If subjectivity were to be ruled out this'd be a very quiet forum.

I agree a lot of cleverness goes into producing these things. (Though the same could be said for my local sewage treatment works!)

Would you really want to have to sail with crew? Its would be like being back at work, with others to organise and manage and take care of etc etc.

It appears a master peice of engineering, although it would be interesting to know how reliable all the systems are given that I guess a lot of the engineering is bespoke.

I also quite like the lines. Clearly it isnt traditional and to make that comparison is pointless. It is a (rather than the) modern face of yacht design and taken for what it is I think it looks very good as well.

That's what the captain does, while the butler ministers to our every need. Well, the food & drink related ones, anyway.
No it isnt and you know it. The point I was making was that why, if you have that sort of money, wuld you want to add the concerns that come with that sort of boat. Certainly if I won the euro millions the one thing I wouldnt spend on would be staff.
