When I’ve been late getting off the boat in Gillingham I’ve often found the (concreted) Strand slipway to be too deeply covered with mud to wade up without filling my boots (allegedly it used to be dredged but hasn’t been for years). I’ve often “rowed” my small, slatted-floored inflatable up the mud - with its flat bottom it doesn’t take too much to propel it. Not sure how well it would work with a chined hull, nor with passengers aboard but it’s been the perfect solution when alone.

A steep downhill slide sounds a lot more fun!
