Teflon/Stern glands

Is there anything to be gained by using teflon grease with its increased cost when re-packing a stern gland with teflon impregnated packing material

Be very carefull which packing you use as it may chew into your shaft if its the wrong type.

What is the 'right type' please

Depends what grade of stainless the boat builder used, my Princess will only take ptfe type packing and not graphite, what boat do you have , send pm to me if you like.
