Tedd Lock closed again other than 90mins before high tide

I would find it hard to believe they would close Teddington as a resulting industrial action.

If they do then my season is effectively over before it’s begun.

May not seem a lot but I had planned to keep it for ten years. That’s 500 quid to the EA per annum and 2k to my independent moorings owner. All gone.

So what do the 8000 ? registered users suggest should be done to solve this problem of no money.
Its been along time coming and the late departed B1 was warning years ago.
Would humbly suggest that you can forget more tax payers money via DEFRA and EA and you can chase as many livaboards as you want and even cut the budget for staff uniforms, but its a drip in the bucket for the type of cash you will need to run the river for leisure users.
Ps. Do not shoot the messenger.
See you all again in August.

Agreed, Barge lock will be running at reduced hours for rest of season.

They say launch lock will be open in April 2026

This completely restricts my boating this season which is already short due to work, which fortunately allows be to play in much larger yachts in the sun !

That said my day boat is just that. Walk to it, un tie and head to the pub. I just can’t do that now.

I don’t want a mooring up river ( can’t find one anyhow ) so do I sell up now ?

I’ve even been looking at the new VW California Ocean camper van for a complete change. But at 85k that’s a different activity altogether!!

The locals in various picturesque parts of the UK are already fed up with well off Boomers, who already own aboat (ie. most of RCC ) , buying a motorhome and clogging up the carparks and roads in once peaceful parts of the world.
Course many do there level best to not pay to go onto a campsite but park in the public car parks behind beaches and other attractions.
A local council has now started charging to park motorhomes on a local beach after it became jammed with semi permanent over stayers and leaving mountains of refuse around bins designed for small amounts of rubbish.
As for sewage...guess.
Rumblings that a special VED should now be charged on mobile front rooms. :ROFLMAO:
