Just had a phone call from Robert who has all the moorings upstream of the Boat Yard at Moulsford. It seems all the boats have been broken into. Due to circumstances it is most likely the thieves came by way of the River than from landward.

There does seem to be a lot of it about at the moment :disgust:

Heard of a guy recently who went to his boat to find lumps of his inboard engines had been removed.

I'm not pointing a finger but what boats move at night especially this time of year? Last year Robert from the Moulsford Farm left his Dinghy on the bank while he nipped up to the cottage to get something. He reckons he was gone no more than 20 minutes but so was his Outboard when he got back. That was daytime.

I was talking to a chap who had one of his diesel tanks drained. The mystery was solved when the CCTV revealed a well known liveabord who hasn't moved for years, filling his jerry cans.

After two break ins, the walk from my car to my boat is always a heart in mouth moment:(

I feel for you, that can't be nice

Hopefully I'll not have that problem...I keep my boat in a gated Marina where even potential boat purchasers aren't allowed in unless they've made an appointment :encouragement:

Thats no guarantee.

We are in a gated marina with 24 hour on site security. Didn't stop a number of dinghies and outboards going astray :(

Hope they are not working their way up river!
Had my hatch broken about 4 times, given up repairing it now :(

You're moving soon to a new mooring. When is that?
P.S. Ask your Dee if she's read that Kindle Book I sent her, did she like it, does she want the prequels and sequels?

Only boat I had broken into was a Princess 32 whilst on the hard at a Thames marina in the nineties. Well, I say broken into, they got into the cockpit, drank all the beer in the fridge, left the empties on the floor and zipped up the hood on their way out. ?
