Thanks, I see what you mean. I had visions of an imitation wood finish like B&Q etc would call "teak effect"
P.S. As a builder in my former life I can confirm that not all external beams in modern houses are non loadbearing. Some of the old ways are returning.

HI well on this subject i can tell you do notto get it you cant see the water seeping in and when you do find it its to late it usualy starts whit the rain comeing in thought the calking whichyou wont see i had a small crack in a srewhead when we cleaned it out we just keep going so if i was you iwould leave well alone o9nly my oppinion but good advice
