Hi, I'm looking into the replacement of the teak decks on my HR 38. Anybody have any recommendations for good repair yards in Northern Europe? TIA

If you can find a wooden boat builder they would be very good at this sort of thing. Depends where exactly you are, there is a chap near Blackpool called David Moss who still makes wooden boats and I'll be calling on his services soon to repair a section of my deck where the teak laminate has lifted to expose the ply underneath.

This said, to replace a whole deck can be very expensive - I've heard that you can save 75% or more by taking the boat to Turkey, Tobago or simalar to have the work done (and in many instances the quality of the work is significantly better!).

Just a thought ....

Kats Marina in Zeeland, Holland. Extremely good value, fantastic service (they even sent me digital photos by e-mail to show the progress), and very professional. When we had our boat re-decked there were three other UK boats in the yard at the same time. PM me if you want any more details.
