Cheaper than any of the Clyde marinas (marinea?) but only sell to yachts from one location on the harbour wall where there is a small-bore pipe. They still measure in gallons and charge just under £1 per gallon.

I know this is off topic, but I knew a diver once who'd been down in Tarbert and he said the sea bed had zillions of champagne and beer bottles on it from the Clyde steamer days. Lucky you, fuelling in Tarbert. Is there anywhere more beautiful?

I don't know if there is much on the seabed now. The incessant dredging for prawns and scallops has brought much of the discarded stuff up! The village certainly is beautiful, but re-fuelling does have its problems.

There are two bits of the quay with hoses, only one has a nozzle small enough for the filler of the average yacht. They won't serve you on a Friday afternoon as the fishing boats are all re-fuelling. The hoze with the small nozzle is short so if there is a boat tied up at that bit of the quay you are stuffed! Even so, if you are patient, you can save the cost of an overnight stay at the pontoons easily.
