TAMD73p 20k repair??

whats the cost of getting the injectors tested?

Have a chat with Thames Valley Electro diesel in Reading. They did all 12 of mine a few years ago for about £800 IIRC.

Worth noting that if DB marine do them for you, they will send the injectors to TVED for the work, and add their commission...

Actually, the Volvo agents here in Sant Carles de la Rapita have got a very good reputation and charge considerably less than Volvo in the U.K. They are old school type engineers and will always try to fix it first if they can. They are an old established family business and it is refreshing to see how well they look after their clients. I personally would highly recommend them and I know many more skippers here think the same. I have even been charged less than was quoted when there turns out to be less work to do or fewer hours. There are a lot of people around Sant Carles who talk a good game but be aware of what they can (or can't) do........
Regards

Plus 1 on the above, very good old school service company in my experience.

But I would also be flying down there immediately to get on top of the situation.

The 72 wasn’t great but you won’t find one in a targa 43 , if you want a targa 43 go for one with the 63p in as there are no electronic bits to go wrong . You only loose 2 knots at the top end .
Thanks Paul - I am on the look out for a T43 on shafts 2 knots isnt a great deal of loss compared with ecu's and the like.
I just wonder how many T43's had the Tamd 63's fitted ??? (without sending this thread off course from the OP's original question)

Very few fitted with that engine maybe some of the early ones. 43.01 was!

Clive Hook had one , think it’s in Deacons now , and the other was in Port Solent but went to the Thames a couple of years ago , if you find one with a black carbon wrapped radome it’s that one ,

Not sure if aqauaholic did a walk around on that one in one of his YouTube videos
