I have my opinion like every one else, so why when I voice how I feel there are those who hurle abuse and seem to get bitter and twisted with course replies .
What is wrong with saying what I think re your wonderful brilliant super what's her name .
I stated in my post quite clearly I thought she did well and then went on to say, with out pots of money there are many thousands of people just as talented who are over looked .
I knew there would be the usual stuff from go nowhere's and do nothings so tried to convey why I have my opinion.

Cheers
Mick

It would have been great if you just gave your opinion about Ellen but you couldn't resist the temptation to add

"Before the brain dead's all flock to have a pop at me as a nobody , boating for most comes very easy due to a silver spoon and not hard work and effort . I have had to earn my pleasure re boats and don't take it for granted .Thus don't have a smug attitude as some on here "

.. so who's being rude to whom ... you were trying very hard to be rude to many of those who post here!

I certainly didn't need your life story to judge the value of your contribution to the forum but now I know your views and prejudices from your recent post, I will be tempted to ignore your views in future.

You deserved the rough treatment. Have you no imagination?

Nerve, courage, determination, spirit and perseverance are what is required - and thats just to get the sponsorship.

Double it and thats what is required to achieve what EMcA has achieved, good for her and shame on your tiny narrow mind.

Mike,

Nothing wrong with stating your view at all. In fact I'm glad to see some people not talking about EM as if she's Mother Theresa, but you have stated your case somewhat provactively and in some things you have been wrong. (Wrong with the facts that is). At the end of it, whilst you're entitled to state your view, so are others. That's all it is: healthy debate.

If you're talking about rudeness, you seem to have got your retaliation in first.

To be fair it was a bit rude but after reading what was being posted can you blame a bloke for feeling like that with the nonsense that was being written and then agreed to !!!!!!!!!
I was very angry re her letting off flares ,you no dought know she's on page 5 of the RYA autumm mag .
Then turn to page 17 and read reg 35 , misuse of destress signals.Destress signals only to be used for the proper purpose .

In my veiw she showed flagrant disreguard for other peoples saftey at sea , when they might be real danger. If that happened in these waters she could be face fines for misusing destress flares.

The fella who says I have a narrow mind !!! do some thing wonderful today get a life.

Over the years there have been many individuals in this forum with a wealth of experience and knowledge and they are more than willing to pass that experience on to those of us who do not have this knowledge. Bill Cooper and Mick immediately come to mind.

Why then do the readers castigate these individuals for having an opinion with which they don't agree and yet welcome their opinions on those matters from which they (the readers) benefit.

I agree with Mick.....let him have his say!
