I've have been using an Asus Memo Pad 7 (HD 1920 x 1200 screen) for the last few years running Marine Navigator App with UK Admiralty raster charts from Visit my Harbour. The functions of Marine navigator are limited but I quite liked the raster charts. Recently, I've found the scrolling between charts has got much worse and the orientation has gone a bit haywire but in any case the tablet has now got afflicted by malware and Google Play is inoperable. As I don't have any other uses for a tablet i can't justify the cost of the cellular version of an iPad, even a refurb one, so I was looking for a cheap (i.e. preferably not more than £150) Android replacement, but this time to run Navionics HD, which I've been quite impressed with on other peoples machines. I also decided I wanted a 10" rather than a 7" screen.
I picked up a Huawei MediaPad3 10 from Argos the other day as it looked about right but a German review indicates a) the recharging speed and battery life is substandard and even more seriously, the 1280 x 800 resolution spread over a larger screen is somewhat short of HD - will Navionics HD work on this?
As I can return this unopened I am inclined to do so - I have found a 2016 spec Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 for only £30 more with genuine HD resolution and better battery life
Any tablet experts out there who can advise?
