Going to move ashore in the near future... (Need to sell my boat first - so if anyone has a hankering for a 71 year old 36ft ketch motor sailer that's well fitted out for live aboard then please get in touch) but still want to have a boat. I'm looking for suggestions for my next vessel, which should be wooden, long keeled, preferably gaff rig, around 22ft lwl, with two berths plus a little one for my daughter. Will have to be very cheap - say around 6k, and must be pretty! All suggestions gratefully received..

I know a bloke with a 71 yr old ketch rigged 36 footer, bit bigger than you want but sounds absolutely ideal. If you got fed up with dry feet you could always live aboard!!!!

Seriously, I bet you'll miss her!

I've also had to "come ashore", but rather more permanently. Arthritis has made sure that I cannot even contemplate a smaller boat, and Swallow's new custodian comes to take her over today. She'll be going to live in Tasmania, where good wooden boats are really appreciated.
Peter.
