I broke the tap (somehow) on my 2002/3 model. I'm pretty sure the fuel filter came with the tap as one part. Thanks Ian for your experience (yes I have made your first mistake too) but the fuel out the carb bowl and the float pin is what I'm going to investigate come the winter service. The much appreciated advice here seems to confirm where I should be headed. (With my trusty motorbike acquaintance as back up).
