I would have thought that was quite easy and obvious. If you were performing work for someone else, and it was being discussed on the forums quite heatedly, would you not keep your business identity separate from your personal one?

In addition, he obtained the permission of the mods to do so first, which is commendable.

Yes, I can understand that.

However, having sought special permission to have a separate identity, it was beholden upon him to keep those identities just that......separate. The moment he started posting and PM'ing under dual identities was the moment that he forfeited any rights to be seen to be separate. It's now like virginity; once lost never regained.

I don't agree at all. He is perfectly entitled to post on this forum, however, he should not be allowed to post as an alias on any commercial matters, especially as this matter is so contentious. As far as I am concerned rocnaONE is part of the old lying brigade, until he comes out and says who he is.

Grant King posts under his own name, why not rocnaONE?

Grant - most of us here support you 100%. We don't like lying cheating business.

I find this absolutely bizarre!

At one time, I had two forum identities: one was my "private" one (like many others, it was my boat name) the other was a "business" one (my real name) that I used when posting in connection with articles that I write for IPC magazines.

It was made clear to me in no uncertain terms that I was only allowed one forum identity My reason for having two was not considered relevant: it was one or none.

Therein lies the core of our problem. Moderation (or referee-ing) is counter-productive without consistency. How can anyone obey rules that change at whim?

Yes, I know it's their forum & their rules & they can take the ball & go home if they want, but why are they always so surprised that we get pissed off?

Tim - I think it is time that IPC sorted this once and forever. The current porky pie tellers hiding behind alias's is just not acceptable. By the way - they cannot complain about been slagged off here because we do not know who we have slagged off!

SO IPC - GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER PLEASE AND ENFORCE OR AMEND THE RULES PLEASE.

You might find it amusing that Delfin is leading the fight against Rocna in the States and has published tests on it which are being quoted on US fora.

Yes, he has also been active here on YBW.

Delfin did a sterling job with those tests earlier in the year and they were very widely discussed at the time. Whilst we clearly do not agree on some subjects we are as one on the subject of anchors. :)

Re double ID's, I have one Havant a Clew, and it gets used when I'm out and about....and my very 1st post as Havant a Clew I made it quite clear what I was doing and why, which is, I suppose, I was allowed to have it.

Just thought I'd mention it.
