I have a suspected leak in my water tank which I think is a crack in one of the welds opening up when the tank gets pressurised by water in an external flexible tank half a meter higher in elevation . The tank is D shaped with the curved bit downwards so the welding is at the ends and along the top longitudinal horizontal edges . The ends are much stiffer so I suspect the longitudinal welds at the top as the culprits
I am reluctant to take it out pressurise it with a few inches of air and do the old bubble test since that means removing all the flooring and honestly I dont have the energy for it or the time .
. Two days ago while tying a knot something twanged in my hand and I can now no longer extend my thumb to cadge a lift althouch I can use it to scratch my palm . So in fear of losing some other vital digital control such as to extend my two middle fingers in a horizontal and upward direction I am looking for an easy way out to fix the problem .
Eg pump some goo into the water and let it ooze out of the crack , solidify and seal it .
I remember long ago when putting large cast iron sea water filter vessels under test leaks through bad fusion of casting chaplets were stopped ( with Lloyds inspector hiding his face) by putting some ammonium sulphate in the test water as well as hammering on the nasty chaplet .
So is there some one out there with an easy fix forSS water tanks without taking them out ( no manhole by the way )
yours gratefully
