A study a few years ago suggested 'two hours' if all the water was severely rationed or even completely shut off... all of it. Which means the only thing between you throttling your neighbour or not... is the water coming out of your taps, a most terrifying thought.
On the Beach by Nevil Shute didn't give you a lot of hope for the future.
“48 hours and two meals away from barbarism” is an adage for when civil society goes without. I can’t remember where I first read it, perhaps “Alas Babylon”.
Have you seen some of the modern specimens they look like they have never missed a extra meal in their lives.I think it's 12 meals, not two. Two would be quite an over reaction.
Viago and his cooking should be available on the NHS. That would sort that issue out.Have you seen some of the modern specimens they look like they have never missed a extra meal in their lives.
Ive got a spring which comes out of the mountain behind my house, so hopefully we’ll filtered. Ruabon mountain between us and liverpool. The prevailing wind is from the sw so no big targets that way to pollute us. Honda genny while still got petrol, inverter of the diesel car battery to play with. Solar panel and lithium batteries in to the equation plus a 7kw wood burner. Plenty of wood on my land plus a stock of prepared wood. Pump up air gun for squirrels etc, Plenty of sheep around as well.Civilisation as we know it will collapse in the event of nuclear war. Road and rail networks will be blocked, and if not they will be under the control of the military. There will be no electricity or water. Phone? Forget it, you will be on your own, unable to contact anyone. You may be able to receive text messages, until your battery goes flat, from 'The Authorities' telling you what to do under Marshal Law.
If you survive the blast, the firestorm and the fallout you will become a scavenger living off whatever you can find. I suggest you print off some of @viago's recipes while you still can.

Not very, a few weeks down the line...How fat are your neighbours?
Have you ever lived on an island when the ferry has been cancelled for two days in a row? In fact a bad weather forecast is enough to clear the essential shelves in Tescos.I think it's 12 meals, not two. Two would be quite an over reaction.
Chardonnay keeps but tiramisu has a small life ! My neck of the woods it was toilet paper and fresh veg.It doesn't have to be an island.
Within hours of the Covid lock down the shelves of our local Waitrose were denuded of essentials such as tiramisu and chardonnay.
