anyone know a good surveyor (boats near the solent) with experience of wooden boats. Not some plastic expert who'll condemn her just cause she's more than forty years old and hasnt got all the latest gizmos.Thanks

If I were in your position, I would give John Lilley at www.seasurveys.co.uk a go. Never used him, but he is very helpful on here and his site has loads of useful info.

I too would also recommend John lilley -he surveyed Hanser and has subsequently given me a lot of good advice and assistance. And he's a very nice guy!

One more for John Lilley. He valued my boat and has since given much good advice not only to me but also to a prospective purchaser. Through the advice given to the prospect he did himself out of a job!

Should you not have any luck with the above you might try Sid Fisher, www.fishersurveys.co.uk
He is based in Devon so he would be more expensive due to the distance but he is one of the best with wooden boats.
