Survey before seeing ones intended?

many thanks for advice and Surveyor suggestions.

I am going to stick with original plan and visit before getting a survey.. I'm flying down in a couple of weeks.. I'm just impatient to get the boat up here!

However I am still interested in reccommendations for surveyors

Don't know exactly when but there are two 'Boat Sales' in this area soon, one at Tollesbury and one at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, nr Ipswich - usually on almost consecutive weekends. Very good for checking out lots of boats over a weekend. The Suffolk Yacht Harbour one is run by Clarke & Carter and Tollesbury by ???? - usually both advertised in PBO and Sailing Today. I'l try and get more details later and post them.
The surveyor I mentioned is Macgregor & Co, Felixstowe - Tel No 01394 676034 - reasonable price fees. If you want more info PM me.

I also live in Suffolk (there seem to be a lot of us on here) and can recommend highly Peter Davies who surveyed our little 23-footer on the Blackwater before we bought her. He's very thorough and can offer a lot of experience and advice.

Hope you enjoy coming down - there's loads of places to go looking at boats. Like the others, I would also be happy to show you around if you want.
