Surely this is the world's worst boat repair!?

Re: Surely this is the world\'s worst boat repair!?

The comment "I think that boat's screwed" sums it up nicely.

Re: Surely this is the world\'s worst boat repair!?

Been on before but still makes me chuckle. Of coulse we'd never do anything as stoopid as that!

Re: Surely this is the world\'s worst boat repair!?

No, can't compete with that, although the crooks in France building my flybridge seat with MDF is not so far off

Re: Surely this is the world\'s worst boat repair!?

If (and its a big if) it was correctly treated it could be ok, but then again I would not have mdf on a boat.

However screwing it down was interesting

Re: Surely this is the world\'s worst boat repair!?

Tsk tsk, screws all at odd spacings and different angles. Terrible workmanship /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I think this picture is a windup, its rejected bare hull or plug.

Re: Surely this is the world\'s worst boat repair!?

Tee hee, that was quite a bit of diy - twas on here a month or so back but worth seeing again :-)

Peters in Chichester did something very similar whilst making a small mod during PDI on my first Sq58, in 2004. I kid you not. I went furcking mad with them. I even have pics somewhere - I should try to dig em out and post on here. It got fixed, but that's not the point. Such a completely crap firm, that Peters lot. I feel sorry for the innocent employees who lost their jobs but so far as management and the several crap employees are concerned I'm glad they disappeared into oblivion and that a proper competent firm like Essexboatyards took over the fairline franchise

Re: Surely this is the world\'s worst boat repair!?

Looks okay to me. 5 mins with a Dremal and perfect - job done. I hope they used the correct grade of screws. That's very important! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
