Superyachts on the Côte d\'Azur

Hello, everyone...

Newly arrived after a post on the dockwalk forum directed me, and hopefully others, here.

I like to take photographs of so called superyachts (I never liked that term but it has become a household name).

If anyone is interested in seeing some photos on the Excellence III from Abeking when arriving at Nice :

or perhaps the Oceanco Lady Christine at Beaulieu-sur-Mer :

I can only invite you to view these at :

The SY that you have pictured that you do not know the name of looks very much like the one that arrived recently in Cowes. Not sure of the name will take a look, I notice it's dutch registered so might help Id it.

Re: Superyachts on the Côte d\'Azur

Thanks Chris !!

But since I posted that new album yesterday, another spotter already informed me about her identity. I had not yet changed it on Webshots. She is Eleonora, a V/D Graaf built gaff schooner, 49 meters, launched 2002 to an original design by Herreshoff. You can see more of her at http://www.schooner-eleonora.com

Regards,

Chris.

Jobs enough on these yachts if you're willing to go after it...

Right now you wont find any openings o the yachts since many of the crew will be let off : it's the end of the season and you'll certainly see lay offs with charter boats.
But for Europe : next spring, early May, go to Antibes and go to one of the crewagencies or present yourself directly at the yachts. That approach still works and if your clean and proper, you'll have a decent chance.

It pays very well but it is not a luxury live : you have to be ready to answer owner or guests 24/24 and 7/7... Privacy is also zero onboard... It is not only sunshine you know...

But the yachts themselves are amazing...

I've seen many and many but they keep fascinating me...

So you'd say not worth the flight out to Palma on Monday to search for a job?
