Major Catastrophe
Well-Known Member
The other day I got a PM from Dan telling me that my prediction was
correct that my entry was the winning entry to the Superyacht or superhouse competition.
I was expecting there to be a 'hold the front page of the forum' moment
while the momentous announcement was made to a stunned but suitably awed forum.
But no, nothing, not a peep.
No Snooks banging on my front door to photograph with a handful of
bikinied 'boat girls' eager to share my moment of triumph in exchange for
their 15 minutes of fame.
But no, nothing, not a peep.
Was an announcement made to the masses at SIBS, while blazered
superyacht salesmen threw their caps into the air? Did the YBW stand break
out the champers to placate the pressing crowds, ever hopeful to catch a
glimpse of the modest winner?
But no, nothing, not a peep.
I've already guessed that the news will not be the leader article across
all of IPC's nautical Magazines, encouraging a new generation to emulate me.
But no, nothing, not a peep.
But as good trouper I will accept my prize of an unsigned copy of Full
Circle by Ellen MacArthur, which has just arrived, with profound modesty and quietly slip away to read her words.
But no, don't say anything, not a peep.
