Hi, Friends.

I'm new in this forum and I need some help..

Im buying a sunseeker predator, year 95. Im buying it without the engine. I would like somebody to advice me which one is the most powereful engine I can put in this kind of boat.

I would really apreciate any help on this matter.

Hello and welcome to the forum
MTU 2000 - most people had fitted on the shaft drive modal cruise 26 Knots - max 34 ish
What happened to the original engines ?
If you want to go larger ,it's a case of will they fit ( major work on the engine bearers ?) 3000 hp x2 = 40 + knots and mid 30's cruise
2500 hp x2 somewhere inbetween
Why not approach Sunseeker and ask if they will carry out the refit ? They like doing this type of thing - ship it back Poole .
They will redo all the carpets, headlinings, sofars, seating and much more if asked.
My boat went back for " refinishing"

Predator 100 ?

Would love to hear more about your refit as you progress with it.

MBY article ?

sunseeker "Che Guevara". Was it the late Colonal Gadaffis boat

Sold for $ 1
When restored could have a certain provenance in some circles . Does N Korea have a coast?

It's a 2004 not a 95 year. 95 is the length. But hey, these are minor details when you're embarking on a project like that!

What about the engines that EBY removed from that burnt out P67 in Antibes, would they be suitable?

Cheers
Jimmy
I think a salvation ( if I can use that word ) would be to over engine it .I suspect op has researched the standard V16 MTU 2000 .Those little Priny engines if fitted will make it a slug.
In the scheme of things -work wise reconfiguring / reglassing the engine room is nothing compared to what has allready been done - and more for the fit out
More "tinterneting" = you can pick up a Pred 95 from 1.25 M € ex tax for a 2002
Plenty arround 1.5 M
In this instance a survey prob a good idea .Now the " maths " just do not add up @ 1.2-1.5 for a normal un trashed one
Last Sumer SS .Fr showed me round a one off Pred 74 with the MtU 2000's shoehorned in -less than foot or room all round in the engine room inc the hieght .Infact when you opened the engine hatch i think there was not even a ladder - one just flopped on top of an engine - max speed 43knots cruise high 30,s
Standard engines MAN 1500's
So it can be done -that's why I suggested - contact factory

Yep the P67 engines would have been MTU CR2000 M93s (V8) - rated at 1200HP each so would make it sluggish - I think the V16s are rated at 2400HP

The MTU's, I believe, are generally smaller than their MAN/CAT counterpart.
But they are taller - maybe thats why you thought they had been shoehorned in.
Perhaps there was more room around the engines (fore and aft mainly) than on the top - assuming the engine room was designed to take the largest manufacturer
