Sunseeker owners???

Sunseeker Part - Electric Battery Isolation Relay

We have an Electric Battery Isolation Relay which we purchased directly from France. Then our customer decided they didn't want it. We were stuck with an expensive paper weight. We have sold our business and still have the Sunseeker part on our shelf. Anyone interested? Originally paid $756 will take offers on $400. Kim@northwestnav.com

yep, there is a sunseeker owners club but unfortunately none of them can read a chart or even a map, hence they never ever meet up except by accident.

Managed to navigate my Manhattan 60 from Poole to Mallorca last year.

Does that make me an unusual Sunseeker owner?

I do think that Sunseekers manifest more apparant envy when compared with other makes, but that this envy is not prevalent in other nationalities.

From my experience most Sunseeker knockers have never owned one!

Own a Sunseeker but still like and admire Princess and Fairline and think that Sealine offer fabulous value for money.

Magnum, good to see you back on the forum.

You might wanna check the date Doug :-)

Did you do Poole - Cala D'Or pretty much in a one-er or did you make a long cruise out of it? Did you go across Biscay straight to NW Spain, or around the edge? Just interested, because I'm contemplating the same trip next Easter

Go to any marina and look for the balding overweight guy arriving in a new 4WD with 20" rims and almost slick tyres. Odds on he is a fellow Sunseeker owner. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My husband fits the profile exactly except for the fact that he has a Trader not a Sunseeker (but believe it or not Sunseeker was an option at the time):D

I qualify in 1 out of 6 does that count:D

Marina, no
Balding, no
overweight, most definitely, nearly 17 stone, not so much over weight, more under tall:D
New 4wd, no
20" rims, no
slick tyres, no

I note that middle aged/ old aren't on the list, would that be because most of us are?

No John I do not want to check the date. Doh, what a plonker I am.

On the journey down as far as Portugal there was three of us on board, mainly me and two Yacht Masters and on occaisions I was glad to have good experienced people with me.

Route taken was: Poole-Dartmouth-Camaret-Pinochet-La Rochelle-Port Medoc-Gijon-
La Coruna-Bayona-Cascais-Vilamoura-Sotograde-Almeria-Cartegena-
Almerimar-Ibiza-Cala d'Or.

I wanted to get to Mallorca before the end of May and as we could not leave UK before the start of May it was really a continued bash with only a short break in Vilamoura to collect my sons family.

If you are going to make a mad dash and put in the miles I would recommend re-thinking.

Each day consisted of getting up early, making sandwiches etc and leaving port by 08:00hrs latest, doing the miles, and then trying to find a marina with a berth and more important one that had the fueling berth still open. Re-fueling using a pump and a credit card that only allows 500 litres at a time is both tedious and time consuming.

After fueling the rush was on to berth the boat, get it prepared for next day, find somewhere to eat, and then flop out so that we could do the same thing again the next day.

Would I do the same thing again ? No No No.

Would I do the same trip again taking it much slower and stopping for longer periods and with my wife and sons family as crew. ? Yes very definately.

The trip as far as Caiscais is boring whilst at sea but it gets much better from then on.

If possible allow at least 2 months for the trip and you will all have a great time.

By the way, how is the leg repair progressing ?

If I can help in any way please just say.

Doug

Indeed Doug, its all about weather reports, fuel supply, beating fatigue and available time. There's not a lot of glamour about a.s.a.p. boat deliveries.

So dragging this thread up from years ago and apparently no Sunseeker owners forum still. No interest in one or all too busy enjoying your boats to start one?
I unfortunately don't own one but have played a part in building quite a few of them now.

I have a Jamaican 35, also in Ireland.
I'd say there isn't much call for an owners club as forums like this are more useful given how few boats of each brand are actually out there and how many of the parts and advice is generic and would apply to any boat.

Martinique 38 for me.

to be honest.....Sunseeker are super helpful for anything “boat build” related so little need for a forum as such.

everything else is generic to all boats really so just I spend many hours wasting time here!

welcome to the forum Chawks. You may well be able to help people out having built Sunseeker’s ?
