Sun Odyssey 37 bilge pump float switch - mount

Hello internet, I need to replace a float switch. It’s an old rule a matic of a size I don’t seem to be able to get. I’ve got the smallest one I could and it’s about 4mm too long to mount in the same position. So I need to remount. The original is screwed in place in the sump. It doesn’t feel right drilling a small hole and doing the same. So was thinking small block of wood, epoxy coated, pump attached to it, and that block being bonded to sump.


Views? Recommendations? What bonding agent to use? Just screw the damn thing?

Simple is usually best

Mount on wood as you suggest, or HPDE sheet, then epoxy to (a lightly sanded and clean) patch of bilge is the way to go in a shallow easy to access bllge IMHO.

If using HPDE give it a good sand to help adhesion.

HPDE is good. Wood will need sealing.
