Summer's Here

Re: Summer\'s Here

Swallows been in Cornwall for a couple of weeks now, and yesterday I heard the cuckoo for the first time. Today it is typically warm sector weather so everybody is keeping their heads down.

Re: Summer\'s Here

Summer came a couple of days ago and went away again today. Tulips are in flower but not warm enough to open today

Is it now autumn???

[ QUOTE ]
Swallows? Tits? Wagtails?
Hardly a mouthfull altogether.

[/ QUOTE ] I was woken by the first pitiful calls of a buzzard the night before last. Now that would make a meal for two. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Summer\'s Here

Saw my first swallow at Coniston 2 nights ago. What about amazons? Expect you can nearly see THE Amazon from your front window but how about a photo of some Amazonians!!

Re: Summer\'s Here

Dafs are flowered and are on there way out here, Lambs are bounding around in the fields around Peldon.

I've not seen any Swallows however, I saw some Tits the other day... they were in a speedboat on the Strood with a water skier in tow... spring/summer is definitely here.

Re: Summer\'s Here

I have the Amazon (Mavis) about 100 metres away. If I leaned out of my bedroom window with binolculars I could posibly see it through the museum windows.

Re: Summer\'s Here

Not only a traditionalist but from a frozen country too. Daffodils are just about finished in Cornwall except for a few late flowering varieties such as the Tamar Double White. Come see next year, but get here in February
