Finally haver permission to fly my models on the River as CAA has altered the No Fly Red Zone around the local airport ... as long as I keep below 50m ..... GREAT !!

I launched my ex Soviet Speedboat - its low freeboard allows me to hand models on the water easily as well as being better for fishing than the bigger Primor in front of it ... I was going to do a full paint job on her - but decided that can wait ..

Roll on summer !!

Next weekend is the River Fest ...

Oh ... forgot to mention :

The boat and outboard stayed outside uncovered through winter ... engine was left in place ... all I did was as usual - pulled fuel line off and let it run dry.

I left the fuel can in place - 3/4 full ....

After launch ... shook the can ... connected fuel line ... pumped the bulb .... choke out ... throttle 1/2 ..... about 10 - 12 pulls and she fired ... choke in ... about 5 - 6 pulls and she started ...
She stopped after about 20 secs .... so went through Choke / no choke routine .. started her up again ... left her running for about 2 mins to clear .... then slipped lines and pottered out to give a test run .. engine stopped at channel entrance.
Paddled he back to pontoon - Soviets knew their O/bds were crap - so they fitted for oars !!
On pontoon again ... got her started again ......... took about 20 pulls .....

Left her at fast idle for a good 10 mins ..... she's now good for a run ..

My point of this post .... the fuel was last years 95 E10 .... no special consideration ... tank just sat in the boat ....

The reluctant starting after winter is same whether fresh fuel or not ... just posting :)
