Sitting in Loch Aline last night and tonight to avoid some breezy conditions (yes we are wooses). Lovely and tranquil.

We're back in Port Ramsay (N end of Lismore). Went for a very wet walk around Lismore yesterday. Headed out this morning aiming for Lochaline, but with 30+kts across the deck said "we don't have to do this" and spent the day reading.
Lochaline tomorrow! Forecast looks lighter.
Lovely light as the sunshine travels across the land with dark rain clouds behind.

Port Ramsay is a nice spot. My wife looked out with the bino’s and said it looked wild out in the sound, and we are anchored up by the perch (plenty of space). We’ll be heading east am, I take it you will go late am to get the tide. We will wave.

Can't quite see us beating up towards you in your photo. 2 reefs into 12-20kts true. Cracking sail.
Here's our view up to you 10 minutes ago. About to rain!

Don’t I bloody know it was about to rain!!! As we went to drop anchor in Otir Mhor, it was biblical for 5 minutes!!
Now blue sky and sunny in the cockpit with a G&T about to be poured.

Thanks guys for all the pics. Brings back lots of (mostly good) west coast memories.
Am in Lisbon at the moment (Airbnb) waiting for a hospital appointment, went out to look around but with temps of 30C+ soon retreated back indoors to the comfort of AC. Might be cooler in the evening.

Cracking sail up the Sound. Now on a mooring in Lochaline. Splashing a bit of cash to be nearer the showers!
Started raining as we picked up mooring. Tea and boat-baked scones being demolished.
Now waiting for weather window for going round Ardnamurchan to Small Isles and/or Loch Moidart.

I like Loch Moidart, childhood memories of visiting the castle and exploring the ruined Dorlin House, now long since demolished. Also a couple of hours one summer morning in the 80's with the anemometer hard against the 60kn stop until the wind veered and we were again sheltered by Eileen Shona. For the rest of the day the view out along the loch to the west, past the castle, was a mass of breaking waves.

Ditto with Loch Moidart, with the anchorage to the east of Riska.
Left 0730 in sun and accompanying rainbow over Mull,
Through Cuan this morning with the usual F5+ and big swell as we rounded Easdale (no pics as it was 2-3m swell and 20+kts from the SW!)

Lay day in Lochaline, so went up Glais Bheinn and over to the Table Of Lorn.
Sure others who have been in to Lochaline have spotted the sculptures on the S side of the entrance
Glad we weren't heading towards Tobermory!
Great views including Loch Don.
And Coire Slabhaig is impressive - walked back along the top of it.
Now back drying our walking kit off! Another lay day tomorrow, then Tobermory and hopefully Moidart on Thursday.
