Streamline ST400 GPS

I have a Streamline ST400 GPS, which has given excellent service over some eight years, but I currently experience a few problems:

a. I get the Waypoint data out to my chart plotting program OK, but can't put waypoints out to the GPS from the computer. I've checked the wiring between the two, and tried both settings on the data in menu with no success.

b. I get a "battery low" warning all the time, although the voltage at the GPS terminal is 12.6v. Could it be the internal battery getting low? Is this easy to change?

Anyone any ideas??

If you give PBO editorial a ring they have an address for a person who will replace the internal battery in your Streamline GPS.

Thanks - but I'm not sure whether it is the internal battery causing the problem - it's not losing waypoints from the memory, nor is it "forgetting" the time and position when it's switched off.
