I have a BTM III monitoring the state of the batteries on my yacht. Some while back I had a battery failure which necessitated taking 1 of the original 6 batteries out of the system. Following this and having changed the settings for battery bank 1 to reflect the new reduced capacity, I wanted to reset the historical data for the bank as described in Section 10 of the manual. Having changed the LOCK mode to OFF, I followed the procedure at 10.6, holding SET for 3 sec, after which the display indicated DONE. However, the historical data for that bank remained unaltered. I have tried this multiple times always with the same result. Eventually I resorted to using 10.17 RESET to FACTORY SETTINGS, which does work as described. Using this method leads to the unfortunate result that the DEEPEST DISCHARGE takes the spurious value of the difference between the factory default BATTERY CAPACITY (200Ah) and the value I specified for the bank (475Ah). Is there something else I need to do to reset the historical data?
When making the settings for BANK1, I deliberately set the CEF to 85% and after 2 recharges to 100% with intervening discharge by more than 5%, this was recalculated as 87%. The batteries are standard wet type lead acid and are more than 2 years old - in spite of this, 3 months after resetting, the calculated CEF has now risen to 91% which, according to the manual is high even for new batteries. Can anyone offer any explanation for this odd behaviour?
