Strange fittings?

Does anyone recognise these fittings, in a pair one either side of the cockpit? IMG_20210621_140700_1.jpg

those are good, though in some locations where you might bang your legs on fixed U bolts. I had them on my last boat for that reason.
 
It is well known that U bolts can detach a standard carabiner if it is hooked to one leg and pulled across the other. These eyes solve that problem but as said above you need two hands to clip on.
I have a U bolt low in the cockpit and always clip upwards so it would take a downward pull to unclip. I think most of my safety lines have Gibb style clips which should be better (the old cast ones rather than the later steel plate ones).
