bloody thing!!!

Seems to work when it likes, Sometimes it talks to me and sometime it just reads 0 anybody any ideas or does it need to be thrown over the side!!!

There is always power to it, and it seem to get a signal for a while then it will read 0.

cheers maha....

Got same problem.

Transducer spins freely, but the speed doesn't register until I'm doing about 3 knots, then progressively over-reads.

I've tried mucking about - sorry - being scientific with the adjusting screw, but this doesn't seem to be connected to anything. Will take the thing to bits and have a look.
If not I'll bin it.

Apart from the wheel spinning freely, is the hull area around the impellor hole clean? I had a similar problem with readings and when the boat was taken out of the water for winter, I saw that there was considerable growth on the hull, which would obviously have effected readings.

Mine did the same and I binned it (locally) bought another one autohelm ST50 to match the rest, in the mean time I decided to try a new power supply to the binned one, amazingly it worked fine, perhaps the binning frightened it but as it meant lifting out to fit new transducer, I finnished the season with the Stow and it worked fine, However I have had it to bits and fitted a new light so possibly have remade a joint but its worth a try.
