It would be a bonus if someone can point me in the right direction where to buy a new one east coast area........or possibly a service kit Your advise please!

Looks a bit like a Blakes - very expensive - can't you dismantle, clean and grease? They usually last for ever.

Hi
Have one identical on my boat. Not sure of name. When on land, of course, remove two screws and remove cone barrel. Get some fine grit (Type used for doing valve heads) Put on surface and turn cone in its barrel. Once happy got clean smooth surface clean all grit out. Then apply waterproof grease and put back together. The art is to tighten the screws just enought to ensure a seal without making it too tight to turn. Once back in water may need to make adjustment

Can't believe no ones pick up the fault with this installation yet....

Looks like it is below the water line..Should be double jubliee clipped?

Hi Woody..... Yep you are right it is just below the water line.
I have just bought the boat and have to carry out a few jobs before I can sail her over the estuary to Canvey island.

The Valve is siezed and has been removed in the hope of freeing it off.

New waste hose has been purchased and of course four SS jubilee clips, as I will double clip at both ends!

Regards Dave

Had a look at a new Blakes S/C at the local Chandlers, the valve I removed has only 3 bolts and not four, also the handle has a squared fitting on the shaft unlike the Blakes. Guess I shall have to clean it up and find the manufacturers name.

Dave.

Dont know the make but its identical to my bog outlet which seizes up now and then. There arent any service bits in it ,you just undo the two bolts and pull the center plug upwards clean it up then use grinding paste to work the two bits together before cleaning and greasing. You need two ten mm spanners on mine .Looks like yours has the original bolts still with slots.

Hi Graham....Just been talking to my old mate Jim 'Fullcircle' on the dog & bone , He also has assured me that it can be unsiezed using a bit of care.

One other thing has popped up into the equation though.....where the valve passes through the hull the brass is a little bit on the 'Pink' side!

We feel that this is because the boat had no anode fitted to her, so I'll be inspecting the body a bit closer when its cleaned up a bit!

Thanks for your input

Dave

I had a very similar seacock jammed solid on my boat when I bought her. I managed to soak it in WD40 and using a length of steel rod gave it a few taps from underneath up through the exit on the hull. It came out really easy. The valve is obviously cone shaped so doesn't need to move more than a few thou to release. I couldn't get it to shift from inside the boat at all. Well worth a try, I was thinking I might have to change it out but it was fine. Gave it a good clean up with wet and dry, a wash and then coated it with waterproof grease. Still working fine now.
