In Chile the armada controls every thing on , in , or under the sea.
They will close ports When they think fit. Down to the large numbers of small fishing boats.
They can be a bit tardy in re opening.
Which is why I avoid Melinka and use an uncontrolled anchorage close south.

Yes, everything , I still have to report my position at 0600 and 1800 daily regardless of where I am. That was badly expressed above - I should have said 'an anchorage outside Melinka port limits.
Oh and don't let them know you have run aground or you will be told to sit tight until they have sent out a patrol boat and sent a diver down to do a survey.
And last but not least don't mess with their sovereignity in the south unless you want to cop a $US50k fine and be kicked out of the country and told never to return. Saw that happen in '18. He did manage to get the fine reduced to 5k.
